BuildTechAsia 2013

31st July to 2nd August 2013

Singapore Expo

BuildTechAsia2013 is the region’s leading tradeshow for the building and construction industry, and deals with all aspects where construction is needed including power generation, transmission and distribution, water and sanitation, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and manufacturing. Organised by Sphere Exhibits and hosted by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore as a key event of the Singapore Construction Productivity Week, BuildTechAsia2013 will help companies to develop, grow and cope with the demands of an evolving industry facing a tightening of foreign workers supply and a constant elevation of what is considered acceptable standards.

Backed by two successful installments of BuildTechAsia, Sphere Exhibits is introducing the Architecture and Built Environment series of events to cater to what the architecture and built sector needs. With BuildTechAsia2013 taking the lead, InterDecAsia2013, AsiaLighting2013 and the inaugural FMSE2013 will integrate in one unique platform to serve the key growth areas across various industries and address the challenging trends of urbanisation.

BIM and Clash Detection Workshop

2st December 2013

iSMART  Lab

Clash detection is a significant and essential part of the construction process.  Clash detection arises and it creates a drawings, independently of all the others, based upon the architects original drawings, which is the starting point for all the other disciplines. Traditional Clash detection using CAD is cumbersome and time consuming that would severely impact the construction process, causing delays, design changes, materials costs and a cascade of headaches and budget overruns.

The start of true BIM modelling included the incorporation of automatic clash detection and search capabilities in the software, which greatly improved the process, in terms of speed and accuracy. So understanding and using clash detection elements in BIM modelling software is crucial for engineers, architects, owners and contractors.
